Feeling like you need a time out? Busy lives often leave us feeling tired, lacklustre and spiritually empty. A Slow Down Day is your opportunity to rest your body and refresh your spirit. Each day consists of thought-provoking presentations on a spiritual topic combined with ample time for personal reflection and prayer; small group faith sharing is an option. Come slow down with us by following the Star to an oasis of peace.
If there is one constant in our lives, it is that things are busy – and that often includes our minds! Yet, we recognize the wisdom in author Anne Lamott’s statement: “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” The practice of mindfulness offers us a way out of the ever-chattering noise of our minds so that we might be truly present to what is. During this Slow Down Day, we will practice some mindfulness techniques as we learn what it means to, “Press Pause!”
9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
