Shipwrecked on Malta with St. Paul

The Biblical theme for this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is drawn from the account of St. Paul’s shipwreck on the island of Malta (Acts 27-28) reflecting the faith of St. Paul, divine providence, and the ecumenical virtue of hospitality. Further themes include; reconciliation, discernment, hope, trust, strength, conversion, and generousity.

Sr. Teresita Kambietz OSM has spent 60 years in the classroom at the high school and university levels and presently serves as director of the Saskatoon extension site of Newman Theological College, Edmonton, through which Saskatchewan teachers are able to pursue their Master of Religious Education degree.

Julien Hammond is the Ecumenical Officer of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton. As an educator, activist and animator of ecumenical and interreligious relations, Julien works to advance unity, reconciliation, collaboration, understanding and respect among people of differing religious traditions.
