“Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved.” We have all been given a once-in-a-lifetime experience – our own life. How are we living it, especially now as we move into a post-pandemic, new and unknown future? Jesus, the only one who has lived a truly balanced life, invites us into fullness of life – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This unique retreat will offer an integrated spirituality drawing on Eastern, Western and Indigenous traditions. Archbishop Emeritus Sylvain Lavoie OMI is a missionary Oblate who has over 30 years of experience ministering among the aboriginal peoples of north and central Saskatchewan. A large part of that ministry has included facilitation of workshops and retreats on various spiritual topics as well as the 12 Steps. He now serves as chaplain and spiritual director at Star of the North Retreat Centre.
Susai Jesu, OMI is a missionary Oblate from India and pastor of Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples in Edmonton. He has a double masters in psychology and counseling and taught yoga in the seminary in India. A Cree speaker, he ministered among the Indigenous people for over a decade and specializes in family and grief counseling and receiving Step 5’s.
Mark Blom, OMI is part of the parish team at Sacred Heart Parish of the First Peoples. Having worked in ministries with Young people, Indigenous communities and those discerning a vocation to religious life he offers guidance to help discern the many currents of our lives and how to recognize which can lead us closer to the kingdom of God.
