Are You Cultured? An Experiential Fermentation Workshop
This hands-on fermentation workshop is the perfect next step after the Art of Fermentation lecture at the Star of the North. Designed for anyone eager to build confidence in safely fermenting food at home, the session is lively, interactive, and packed with practical skills.
The class begins with a quick review of how beneficial microbes transform everyday ingredients into delicious, probiotic-rich foods. Then choose to make either Sauerkraut with Juniper Berries and Black Peppercorns or Oregano Garlic Cauliflower Pickles for you to take home.
Chef Joseph will also demonstrate how to brew kombucha and prepare Fire Cider, a traditional food-as-medicine tonic known for supporting immunity, heart health, and respiratory wellness. Expect plenty of tips, troubleshooting advice, and a chance to ask questions as you explore the art and science of fermentation in a fun, supportive environment.
