Event Details

This Philosophy and Theology Club brings together guest thinkers to guide engaging dialogue on key philosophical and theological questions.

In November we will approach "The Question of Religion." Dr. DeRoo will moderate this discussion, drawing connections from his most recent publication

Material Spirituality: A Transcendental Phenomenology of Religion (London: Bloomsbury, 2026).

Dr. Neal DeRoo, a philosopher of religion and phenomenology, has held major academic roles, published widely, and lectured internationally. His current work explores spirituality as a fundamental structure of experience shaping intuition, identity, and worship across social, political, and religious contexts.

With over twenty years of academic and administrative experience, Dr. Darren Dahl serves as faculty at Newman Theological College. A Saskatchewan native, he taught at St. Thomas More College after doctoral studies at McMaster University. An Associate Professor of Theology, his research focuses on phenomenology, religious experience, and Revelation.
