About Quiet Prophecy Public Lecture (Dec. 2)

Scripture tells us that, as he grew, John the Baptist “grew strong in spirit”. What if you are the type of person who is “accommodating in spirit”? What if you are not the type of person who can openly protest things and openly challenge others? What are your prophetic gifts? How can your quiet gifts challenge the world and the church to be more just, more loving, and more faith-filled? Is there another kind of “protest” that is powerfully prophetic? www.starofthenorth.ca/prophecy

About Prayer: Our Deepest Hunger Retreat (Dec. 2-4)

Is prayer a hunger? Then why do we have to a make an effort to pray? How does the Spirit pray through us “in groans that are too deep for words”? How do we “pray always”? How do we pray when we are simply too distracted, tired, dissipated, and too disinterested to pray? What are the major formal types of prayer? How is liturgical prayer different from private prayer? What are solitude and contemplation? What is “Sabbath Time” and how is this prayer?  This retreat will focus on answering those questions in a way that, hopefully, leads us into deeper prayer within our lives. Registration ends November 30. Cost: Online $165 | Commuter $255 | Live-In $395 www.starofthenorth.ca/rolheiser

More High Praise for Aurora Living

"Thank you all. You are a great team and this module was a rich opportunity for me to move into my teaching year. I am constantly trying to "dip into the well" and move both myself and my students into meaningfulness vs. mindlessness. You are a deep and refreshing well." - Aurora Living Psalm Module Participant

The essence of our Aurora Living formation program is equipping people to grow personally and spiritually, and be more effectively involved in today’s Church and world.

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to be part of an Aurora Living module, either online or in-person, we want to extend an invitation to get involved in this community at the intersection of faith and contemporary issues such as creation care, social justice & reconciliation. Our Winter 2023 module, which starts with an opening retreat January 20-22, is entitled Wisdom: The Wells We Drink From and will feature presenters Sr. Priscilla Solomon, Ron Rolheiser, Gisele Bauche and others.

We know of no other immersive process providing rituals, spiritual and practical teachings from a variety of respected Christian and interfaith leaders.  We provide grounding and growing in the Word of God, “Laudato Si” Care for Creation, community building, contemplative prayer, and justice as right relationship. Aurora Living is informative, formative, and transformative, with a focus on spiritual exploration more than doctrinal orientation. The inter-faith dimension provides a rich exchange and learning experience about current faith and justice issues, most significantly the TRC Calls to Action, within a spirit of respectful dialogue. The monthly wisdom circles are proving to be an effective way of teaching communal skills of listening, speaking and discerning through personal and intellectual sharing to integrate the rich content of the process.

The early-bird deadline for our Aurora Living Winter Module entitled Wisdom: The Wells We Drink From is December 15th, so be sure to register before the Christmas break: online $550 / commuter $700 / live-in $875. Find out more at www.starofthenorth.ca/wisdom

Thank you to all of you who have helped circulate this information within you parish community and those you have connection with. We have brochures and other forms of promotion available as well; let us know how we can help you spread the word.
