Conflict is a sign of life, and some conflict can be useful in helping to clarify options. Conflict exists wherever two or more people are gathered. Even in the New Testament, we see examples of the disciples arguing (Luke 9:46-48). Even St. Peter and Paul had their disagreements Galatians 2:11-14. Yet despite the prevalence of conflict, many Christians avoid conflict at all costs, often to their detriment. This presentation will examine the mechanics of conflict, explore conflict in Scripture, and focus on avoiding pitfalls. At the end of the presentation, participants will have a greater insight into the causes of conflict and strategies for increasing their effectiveness and managing conflict in their lives.
