Living Mission Through Community

Dear friends,

Come celebrate with us by attending a Starlight fundraising dinner hosted by the Star of the North Retreat Centre in partnership with the Missionary Associates of Mary Immaculate (M.A.M.I) on May 21.

Our theme for the evening, “Living Mission Through Community,” celebrates two centuries of missionary enthusiasm, faithful service, and Oblate commitment bringing hope, healing, and Good News to the most abandoned.

As part of this anniversary, and guided by our motto “Renewing our Spirits – Transforming our World,” the Star is renewing our mission and vision for the future:

Annual national Oblate Young Adult Conference

Aurora Living Spiritual Formation: forming people of good will seeking to integrate a theology and spirituality responsive to the cry of the earth and the poor.

    Building Contemplative Community

Star Garden Food Security Cooperative towards integral ecology

Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action

Inner city Men and Women’s Wellness retreats

Keynote speaker Father Ken Forster, OMI, serves M.A.M.I. as their outreach minister. M.A.M.I. is an international organization of committed laity and professed Oblates who support the works and ministries of the Oblates around the world.

Funds raised through this evening will support both the ongoing ministry of the Star of the North and the construction of the new retreat house in Kisaju, Kenya.

May 21st will be an opportunity to Live Mission Through Community together, to give thanks for 200 years of Oblate presence, and renew our shared mission!

Bless us with your presence and ensure that sacred spaces of encounter, healing, and renewal remain available for generations to come.
